The choice to make both of them title tracks
Two songs on a single, both set as title tracks. Not the usual arrangement of one in front and one behind.
Fix one title track and that song becomes the record's face. Make it two and there are two faces. The listener ends up deciding which to hear first.
The single is called 'From This Star'. One of the songs gave its name to the whole release. So formally they are equal, but one of them took the name.
Splitting the videos six days apart
What came today is the 'Dear my crazy soulmate' video. The 'From This Star' video arrives on September 16.
Both songs come out on the same day, and only the videos are split six days apart. The recordings arrive at once; the pictures arrive twice.
Done this way, release day becomes release week. Today you see one song's face; six days later you see the other's. It is a method for actually splitting a double title in two.
The album ahead
These two songs are an advance release of tracks due to appear on IU's sixth full-length album. That album has been postponed.
Putting songs out while the album is late is not a common choice. Instead of waiting for the album to be finished, the finished songs come out first.
The previous release was 'Bye, Summer' in September of last year. Exactly one year.
What to check today
Play the two songs back to back first. What both-being-title-tracks actually sounds like is the first thing to check.
Then watch today's video. It is the face they chose to show first.
Last, remember September 16. The other face arrives that day.
