NiziU's 'Sour Grapes' at a glance — five songs, eight members, and the fox and the sour grapes

NiziU released their first Korean mini album, 'Sour Grapes', today (September 28) at 6 p.m. KST. Until now, their Korean releases were two singles ('Press Play' in October 2023 and 'LOVE LINE' in March 2025), so this is the first time they're giving you five songs at once. It's also their first new Korean release in about a year and a half, since 'LOVE LINE'. Whether you're hearing them for the first time or you're a WithU (NiziU's fandom) who's waited a long time, you can catch up on everything right here.

RIO paused activities in July, following a notice from the agency. The notice said RIO would "take a break from activities for the time being, respecting the member's own wishes," and promotions for this album are also being done as eight.

The title track is a new take on Aesop's fable 'The Fox and the Grapes', the one where the fox can't reach the grapes and turns away, saying, "They're sour anyway, I don't want them." The agency describes the genre as pop dance built on electronic jazz. The lyrics were written together by seven writers from the lyric-writing team ARTiffect.
