Missed them in September? 10 new K-pop songs to listen to now

September kept the comebacks coming, solo and group alike, without a break. On the 4th alone, JISOO, MONSTA X and TEN all released new songs at 1 PM KST, and LISA put out a music video that same morning. Songs from the last week of the month, by BOYNEXTDOOR, NiziU, YESUNG and others, are in last week's list, so here we've picked ten other songs, in the order they came out. There's no ranking. For each one, we've noted a moment to listen for first, timed to the music video.

JISOO 'CLICK'

A pre-release single that arrived September 4 at 1 PM KST, ahead of JISOO's first solo full-length album. The sound gets noticeably bigger at 0:45, and from 1:40 to 2:25 it holds on to that intensity for close to 45 seconds. Apple Music

LISA 'SaWaDiKa'

Named after 'sawadee ka', the Thai greeting, this is the pre-release track from LISA's EP 'PRESS PLAY', due October 23. The music video came out September 4 at 9 AM KST. At 0:32, the sound climbs up a notch. Apple Music

MONSTA X 'MAGIC'

The title track of 'The Phase', the album they released September 4. At 1:36 the sound all but disappears for a little over a second, then comes surging back at 1:37. It's the biggest jump anywhere in the song. Apple Music

TEN 'OUTWEST'

A two-track single released September 4 at 1 PM KST, and TEN's first comeback on ILLIMNT, the label TEN co-founded in July. Hard-hitting stretches alternate with moments to catch your breath, and then from 2:30 to 3:12 it charges ahead without a break for more than 40 seconds. Apple Music

SOYEON 'I'm gonna TOESA (Narr. Kian84)'

The title track of 'What a Wonderful Life', SOYEON's first solo full-length album, released September 7 at 6 PM KST, with narration by Kian84. The Korean title, '퇴사할게여', roughly means "I'm quitting my job." It's SOYEON's first solo album in about five years and two months, since 'Windy'. At 1:29 the sound sinks for a moment, then swells again at 1:31. Apple Music

MINHO 'Make it hot'

The title track of MINHO's second mini album (six tracks), released September 7 at 6 PM KST. It comes nine months after the single 'TEMPO' last December. At 0:46 everything gets louder at once, and the song really starts to heat up. Apple Music

D.O. 'Guitarist'

The title track of 'DOPAMINE' (five tracks), the fourth mini album from D.O. (Doh Kyung-soo), released September 8 at 6 PM KST. It's built on R&B and soul. Of the ten songs here, it has the smallest rise and fall in volume. With no moment where it breaks loose, it keeps the same even texture from start to finish, so tune your ear to the grain of D.O.'s voice. Apple Music

IU 'Unknown Planet'

Released September 10 at 6 PM KST, this single carries two title tracks: 'Unknown Planet' ('이 별로부터' in Korean) and 'Dear my crazy soulmate'. It's a pre-release single ahead of IU's sixth full-length album, and the music video for this song came out six days after the audio, at midnight KST on September 16. From 1:15, the sound thickens by a layer. Apple Music

LE SSERAFIM 'Made My Night'

The title track of their second single album, released September 11. The music video was made together with the game Overwatch. The sound stays low until 0:32, and right at that point it all gets bigger at once. Apple Music

CRAVITY 'LOUDER'

The title track of their ninth mini album, 'sonorous', released September 30 at 6 PM KST. True to the title, the sound gets louder all at once at 0:16, and from there it holds close to that level until the end. You can catch their stage today (October 1) at 6 PM KST on Mnet's M COUNTDOWN.
