Every 'I put a period on it' stops the drums, and the third time they never return: Woody × BORA 'Period'
On the 'period' that closes each chorus, the drums and bass hold their breath for two seconds. At the end they never come back, leaving just one '마침표를' over the keys.

'Period (마침표)', released together by Woody and SISTAR's BORA at 6 p.m. on October 1, is a song that compares a love that's over to the end of a long movie. Woody wrote the music with Krap, JAYDOPE and Jang Hye-seong, and Woody and BORA wrote the lyrics with Mok Ji-min and Paz. In the credits, both names sit side by side in the producer line too. That same evening on M Countdown, the two gave their first duet performance of the song. We pulled the instruments apart one by one to hear how the song's title turns into sound. Timestamps follow the official music video on 1theK.
1:15 · Two seconds that close the chorus
The chorus ends on '지독했던 이야기의 마침표를 찍어' ('I put a period on our terrible story'). At 1:15, right on that word 'period', the drums and bass hold their breath together and come back two seconds later at 1:17. With both instruments that drive the beat dropping out at once, the song stops for a moment, like a dot placed at the end of a sentence. On screen at that point, Woody stands alone on a bridge in the rain, holding a clear umbrella.
1:00 · Same word, but no stop here
The same word appears just before the chorus, in '웃고 있는 널 보면서 난 마침표를 찍어' ('watching you smile, I put a period on it'). But at these two spots, 1:00 and 2:02, the drums keep going without stopping. The beat stops only on the 'period' that closes the chorus.
2:18 · A 15-second blank after the stop
At the end of the second chorus at 2:18, the drums and bass stop for two seconds in exactly the same way. What changes is what comes next. From 2:21 to 2:36, for 15 seconds, only the instruments play, with no voice. In this stretch, like a margin left after a period, the music video shows two people sitting side by side at a glass railing, looking down at the city lights at night.
3:09 · The third time, they don't come back
At 3:09, where the last chorus '우리라는 이야기의 마침표를 찍어' ('I put a period on the story called us') ends, the drums and bass stop for the third time, and this time they never come back in. The voice rests for a little over three seconds too, then at 3:13, with only the keys left, sings '마침표를' ('the period') once more, alone. The last word of the official lyrics is that same '마침표를', so the song's title becomes the final word that closes it. On screen, the camera lingers on BORA resting a cheek on the shoulder of someone in a black leather jacket.
Woody sings, BORA acts
The cast line in the music video's credits lists BORA and actor Kim Moon-ki. While BORA acts out past scenes with a lover, Woody sits alone singing in a room with books and things strewn everywhere. The 1theK channel also has a separate special clip of the two sitting face to face in a candlelit bar, singing the song. The single also includes an instrumental version with no vocals.
