12 October songs still on the chart: the month with the most long-lasting hits

Of the 100 songs on the Bugs weekly chart (September 21–27), 68 came out in March of this year or earlier. We counted which month each of those 68 was released in, and October came out on top with 13 songs. March followed with 11 and August with 8, while only 2 came out in September. Of the 13 October songs, set aside BESTie's 'Love Options' from 2013 and the other 12 were all released in October 2024 or October 2025. Here are those 12, in order of release date. Every timestamp below refers to the official music video embedded with each entry.

2024.10.07 · LEE MU JIN 'Coming Of Age Story'

A song on the EP 'Youth (만화 滿花)'. LEE MU JIN wrote the lyrics and also co-composed it. From 1:53, the voice drops out for about 10 seconds and only the band plays on. Once the singing returns, a blue relay baton is thrown into the sky at 2:04, and the screen moves from a running track in daylight to a dark room. Apple Music

2024.10.16 · Roy Kim 'If You Ask Me What Love Is'

A single Roy Kim wrote and composed alone. The first verse has no drums. They come in for the first time at 0:47, on '저물어 가는 노을도' ("even the fading sunset"), and the bass follows two seconds later. From 3:18 the drums drop out again, and the song ends without them. Apple Music

2024.10.18 · ROSÉ & Bruno Mars 'APT.'

The first six seconds are just a game chant with no backing, built around ROSÉ's given name, Chaeyoung. Right after "game start" ends, at 0:06, the drums and "apateu" come in together. The music video runs 2:54, five seconds longer than the track (2:49). Apple Music

2024.10.21 · aespa 'Whiplash'

The title track of the fifth mini album. Right before the last chorus, at 1:55, the drums, bass and every other instrument drop out for two seconds, leaving only voices. Then at 1:58 the chorus comes back all at once. Apple Music

2024.10.21 · Hwang Karam 'I'm Firefly'

Released the same day as 'Whiplash'. Words and music are by Jeong Jung-sik (정중식), and Hwang Karam's version is a new recording of a song the band 중식이 (Lunch) released as a single in April 2020. The music video starts with a voice within its first second. The bass doesn't enter until 0:53, when the opening line '나는 내가 빛나는 별인 줄 알았어요' ("I thought I was a shining star") comes around again. This video runs 3:10, 25 seconds shorter than the track (3:35). Apple Music

2025.10.13 · NMIXX 'Blue Valentine'

The title track of the album 'Blue Valentine'. For the first 12 seconds, "You'll always be my blue valentine" is sung twice with no drums. The drums come in at 0:17 along with '식어버린 너의 색은 blue' ("your color, gone cold, is blue"). Apple Music

2025.10.13 · TWS 'OVERDRIVE'

Released the same day as 'Blue Valentine'. The track runs 2:40, but the music video runs 3:29. The first 15 seconds of the video aren't a song but a conversation in a car. After some talk about the dentist, the adult in the driver's seat says, "When you eat sweets, don't lie down — brush your teeth right away," and the member in the passenger seat just answers, "I said okay." The song starts at 0:16, as the car door opens and the member gets out. Apple Music

2025.10.15 · Hwasa 'Good Goodbye'

Hwasa wrote the lyrics with Ahn Shin-ae and composed the song with Park Woo-sang. At 1:22, where the first chorus ends on '후회하도록 goodb-ye' ("goodb-ye, so you'll regret it"), the drums and bass drop out together. After a few seconds with just a low layer of backing, the next verse begins at 1:31 with '널 생각한 운율이야' ("it's a rhyme I wrote thinking of you"). Apple Music

2025.10.16 · DAVICHI 'TIME CAPSULE'

Words and music are by the songwriting team 초록병본부. The music video isn't a wide frame but a 4:5 one, slightly taller than it is wide. At 2:03, a letter from childhood appears. In wobbly handwriting it says '미래엔 내가 셋이면 좋겠다' ("I wish there were three of me in the future"), listing a me who works, a me who sleeps in, and a me who goes out to play. From 4:08, a plane writes "TIME CAPSULE" across the sky in cloud letters. Apple Music

2025.10.20 · Hearts2Hearts 'FOCUS'

The title track of the group's first mini album. From 2:24, for 15 seconds, the bass drops out and the drums grow quieter and quieter. Meanwhile "I cannot focus, you're all I'm needing" repeats, and at 2:40 every instrument returns at once. Apple Music

2025.10.24 · LE SSERAFIM 'SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope)'

j-hope features on the track and is also credited as a composer. Members HUH YUNJIN and SAKURA are on the composer list too. Before the song begins, the music video opens with about 25 seconds in a pink exercise studio. At 1:03, the backing stops completely for the one second it takes to sing '…드셔봐' ("…have a taste"), and at 1:04 the chorus, '이빨 사이 낀 SPAGHETTI' ("SPAGHETTI stuck between your teeth"), comes in. 2025.10.27 · Roy Kim 'No Words Can Say'

Released one year and 11 days after 'If You Ask Me What Love Is'. Once again Roy Kim wrote and composed it alone, and the late arrival of the drums is similar too. This time they first come in at 0:36, on '허전함에 물들어' ("tinged with emptiness"). At 3:12, where the last chorus sings '수없이 많을 밤들과' ("countless nights to come"), the drums and bass briefly drop out, then return at 3:20. Apple Music
