NCT WISH 101 before 'I SPY': from 'WISH' to 'Ode to Love'

At 6 p.m. KST on October 12, NCT WISH return with their fourth mini album 'I SPY'. The sixth team to come out of SM Entertainment's NCT, they debuted at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on February 21, 2024. The members are Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo and Sakuya. We picked six title tracks, from the debut to this spring's first full album, and noted where to look first in each. 2024 'WISH'

The title track of the debut single. The Korean-version music video opens with a drive through a European seaside town, and at 1:15 and 3:15 members swim through blue water. The audio runs 3 minutes 5 seconds, but the video runs a little over 4 minutes 20 seconds, which means a short story is attached before and after the song. Apple Music

2024 'Songbird'

The second single, released on July 1, four months after the debut. The label introduced it as a pop dance track with an addictive guitar riff, built on the motif of a bird that brings good luck, with the message 'let's fly up together to make a miracle'. The music video runs 3 minutes 11 seconds, almost the same length as the audio (3 minutes 1 second). Apple Music

2024 'Steady'

The title track of the first mini album, a dance track mixing house, UK garage and Jersey club. The music video is a school story with the members in uniforms, and about the first 20 seconds from 0:00 are a dialogue scene. At 2:30, a 'ghost' under a white sheet appears. Apple Music

2025 'poppop'

The title track of the second mini album. It continues the story of the album track 'Melt Inside My Pocket', capturing the freshness of two leads who start dating after a successful confession. The music video opens on a phone message screen, and at 1:25 a bunch of sky-blue balloons hangs above the street. The sound the label singled out is a heavy bass line coming in among bells and a lead synth. Apple Music

2025 'COLOR'

The title track of the third mini album, an electro-pop song with the rhythm changing in the chorus over strong synths and jazzy chord progressions. The stretch after the chorus, shouting 'Bring out the color', is the heart of the song. Apple Music

2026 'Ode to Love'

The title track of the first full album, released in April. The album holds ten songs. According to the label, the song reinterprets the 'doo-doo-roo-doo' humming from The Cranberries' 'Ode To My Family', as dance pop on a new UK garage rhythm. The music video follows a pine forest and butterflies, then from 2:10 moves under a night sky raining stars. The main photo is from that forest scene. Apple Music

'I SPY' on October 12

The fourth mini album holds six songs. The title track 'I SPY' was introduced as hybrid dance pop whose mood shifts sharply from scene to scene, about the moment every sense turns toward someone you've fallen for. Two trailers, 'Confused Boy' and 'Lover Boy', are already up on the official channel. On the same day at the same hour, PLAVE and Xdinary Heroes also release new albums.
