It starts at a wedding and ends with 'Not guilty': 7 things you missed in ATEEZ's 'BAD' music video
A chapel wedding turns into a dance floor, fire bursts up right after 'spicy' at 1:49, and the court delivers its verdict at 3:19. The lyrics say 'BAD' thirty-six times.

'BAD', the title track of ATEEZ's 14th mini album 'GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5', released June 26, was still at number 5 on the Bugs weekly chart for the last week of September, three months later. The agency introduced it as built on a Brazilian funk rhythm, with 'SOPRO' from the ATEEZ storyline now portrayed as a woman who reads other people's feelings and pulls them into sync. The music video starts at a wedding and ends in a courtroom. Rewatching it, we picked seven scenes that are easy to miss. Times follow the official music video (3:45).
0:01 · A music video that opens with a wedding
The first scene is a wedding in a chapel with pink walls and heart decorations. A bride in a white dress stands on the platform with the guests, and at 0:04 the groom, head shaved, beams. After the title 'BAD' appears at 0:13 in red lettering like a Western movie poster, at 0:25 a member in a white suit and white hat comes through the open door and walks down the aisle between the guests.
0:40 · The chapel turns into a dance floor
At 0:31, with the first line, 'Your name stuck on my tongue', the guests get up from their seats and start dancing, and by 0:40 the whole chapel is a dance floor. At 1:04, in an overhead shot, dozens of people in white fill the flower-patterned floor.
1:02 · 'BAD', thirty-six times
The first chorus, 'She's so BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD', arrives at 1:02. Count the lyrics on Bugs and the word 'BAD' appears 36 times. Besides Korean and English, the lyrics mix in Spanish, too: lines like 'Tú me tienes loco, toda la noche' ("you drive me crazy all night") and 'ritmo peligroso' ("a dangerous rhythm") at 1:18.
1:49 · After 'spicy' comes fire
At 1:47 comes '청양고추 Vibe she spicy' (cheongyang chili, a fiery Korean pepper), and right at 1:49, with the word 'Fuego' (Spanish for "fire"), flames shoot up on screen. Next to the flames glows a cowboy-boot-shaped neon sign that reads 'SPICY'. Just before, a sign in the street scene reads 'K HOT Chilli peppers'. The heat is layered three times, in the lyric, the sign and the fire.
2:07 · The 'SHE IS SO BAD!' headline
As 'She's so used to all 'em flashes, Mona Lisa' arrives at 2:06, the screen shows a man holding open a newspaper. The front-page headline reads 'SHE IS SO BAD!', with a photo of a woman beneath it.
2:52 · A jury box in matching dresses
From 2:25 the scene moves to a courtroom. At 2:52, women in black hats and identical white dresses with black polka dots line up in the jury box and dance. It's the same dress as the woman who came through the double doors at 2:16.
3:19 · 'Not guilty.'
At 3:16 the judge bangs the gavel, and at 3:19 the subtitle 'Not guilty.' appears at the bottom of the screen. Then at 3:22, the woman in the polka-dot dress raises a ringed hand and smiles. At the top of the end credits that begin at 3:31, the name 'CHASE INFINITI' appears alongside ATEEZ. Apple Music
After the album came out, remixes of 'BAD' were released as separate singles: a Steve Aoki version on June 30, a James Carter version on July 2 and an Ofenbach version on July 6, according to Apple Music.
