Before 'Lost&Found': a HYOJUNG starter guide, six songs from the self-written 'SKY' to '나의 작은 청춘에게'

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 15, at 6 p.m., OH MY GIRL's HYOJUNG releases a first mini album, 'Lost&Found'. HYOJUNG debuted with OH MY GIRL on April 20, 2015, and has sung as the group's leader and a vocalist for 11 years; as a soloist, this is the third release, after a winter season song in 2024 and a first single album in May this year. Instead of the group's title tracks, we picked six songs where HYOJUNG's voice or name stands in front. For each, we noted HYOJUNG's role and a scene to watch first. Credits follow Bugs, and scene times follow the official videos.

2019 · 'SKY (Feat. MIMI)'

A song HYOJUNG wrote, posted on OH MY GIRL's official YouTube. The video description credits the lyrics, the music and even the video editing to HYOJUNG, with fellow member MIMI featured. It was never released as a track. At 0:02, the word 'Sky' is typed over a sunset dressed up as a camcorder recording screen, and at 3:01 the caption 'Song in the sky' appears. It plays like a self-shot vlog. YouTube video

2021 · 'Lead the Way'

A Korean-language version of 'Lead the Way', the song from Disney's animated film 'Raya and the Last Dragon'; its Korean title is '길'. The music video opens at 0:01 with a title card reading '라야와 마지막 드래곤 / 길 (LEAD THE WAY) / 효정'. From 0:07, HYOJUNG sings in front of an old silver microphone in a room full of potted plants, and from around 1:19, film footage with rising blue mist cuts in. Apple Music

2021 · 'Dun Dun Dance'

A nu-disco title track in which OH MY GIRL portrays itself as aliens. The official channel has separate stage videos that follow each member, and in HYOJUNG's version a 'HYO JUNG' name tag sits at the bottom of the screen. At 0:24, HYOJUNG, in a purple plaid two-piece with braided hair, kneels at the very front of the stage. HYOJUNG version video · Apple Music

2023 · 'Miracle'

A fan song released for the group's eighth anniversary. According to the album notes, it was the first time all six members took part in writing the lyrics. HYOJUNG said, "I think I wrote the lyrics carefully, after thinking deeply about what a miracle means to me." The following year, on the 10th mini album, HYOJUNG wrote the Korean lyrics for 'Love Me Like You Do', sung with YooA. Apple Music

2024 · 'Hot December'

HYOJUNG's first solo season song; the Korean title, '크리스마스 야간열차', means "Christmas night train." It's city pop that opens with a music box and takes you to platform 2 of a train station on a snowy Christmas, and HYOJUNG took part in composing it. HYOJUNG explained, "I made this song wondering how much more exciting and fluttery it would feel to hear a city-pop season song in winter." At 0:40 in the music video, a small wooden music box opens, and at 1:25 a model steam locomotive with a red light circles the track laid around a Christmas tree. Apple Music lists the English title as 'Hot December'. Apple Music

2026 · '나의 작은 청춘에게'

The title track of the first single album, 'Purple Note', released in May; the song title means "to my little youth." The album is named after the band club HYOJUNG actually belonged to in high school. It's pop rock about getting back up and moving forward over a fresh band sound, with HYOJUNG among its lyricists and composers; on the B-side, 'Look Around', HYOJUNG wrote the lyrics alone. Fitting for someone who took on a DJ role on KBS Cool FM's '오마이걸 효정의 볼륨을 높여요' in November 2024, the music video opens at 0:09 in a radio booth with 'KBS CoolFM' lettering. At 1:02, students in school uniforms write 'PURPLE NOTE' in giant letters on a blackboard, and from 3:21 HYOJUNG sings with a band on a rooftop. The lead photo is from 3:54, back in that radio booth. October 15 'Lost&Found'

HYOJUNG's first mini album since debut holds six tracks: the title track '미완성일지도', '후회하는 것보다 상처인 게 더 나을지 몰라' and '8 (if)', plus an instrumental of each. Several outlets reported that HYOJUNG took part in writing the lyrics and music for every song. The agency introduced it as a story about making one's own path from the traces already walked, rather than following a set road. The tracklist was designed like an old postcard with a map of HYOJUNG's musical journey, and in the first concept photo HYOJUNG wears vintage denim and a cowboy hat. In the official YouTube short, under the words 'HYOJUNG 1ST MINI ALBUM', HYOJUNG holds a megaphone and calls for "travel mates." After the release, HYOJUNG holds a small-theater show, 'HYOJUNG 1st LIVE ‘Lost&Found’', at Xscala in Jung-gu, Seoul, on October 17 and 18, and performs at TIAT SKY HALL in Tokyo on November 1.
