It's his first solo concert here. He became known in Korea through streaming and anime theme songs without ever being formally introduced, so the shows are arriving late behind the music.

Seoul's place on the tour

The tour opens in Chiba, near Tokyo, on September 5–6. Seoul comes next on September 19–20, followed by Hong Kong on October 3, Fukuoka on October 24–25, and Taipei on October 31 and November 1.

Seoul sits directly after the home dates. Seoul being placed early on an Asia tour has become common, but booking two nights at arena scale is another matter. On a schedule where several cities get one show, Seoul gets two.

Japanese artists' overseas shows long tended to start with a single night at a small venue. This schedule shows that order changing.

A show by someone who makes it alone

Vaundy has handled not only writing, composing and arranging but design and video direction himself.

When one person designs the sound and the picture together, the character of a show changes. Stage video stops being an aid that explains the songs and gets made on the same level as them.

An arena is also the scale where that method shows. In a small venue the sound leads; in an arena the picture takes up as much room as the sound. For someone who has self-produced throughout, an arena is less an expansion than the size at which the original plan can finally be laid out.

Before you go

Both nights are sold out, so finding tickets now is hard. Returns tend to appear as the date approaches — setting an alert with the seller is the better move.

Inspire Arena is on Yeongjongdo, out toward the airport. Coming from Seoul, allow generous time both ways. The Sunday show starts at 4 p.m., which makes getting home afterward comparatively easy.

The two nights start at different hours: 5 p.m. Saturday, 4 p.m. Sunday. If you're holding a ticket, check your night's time again.
