Gather it all in one spot and the scale looks bigger; spread it out and it travels through the city instead. The second version is less a festival than a circuit. And the three sites really are different in character: a university field, an outdoor stage in a park, an auxiliary field at a sports complex.
There's a reason city-run programs end up shaped like this. The stage goes out to where residents actually live, so no single neighborhood gets all of it.
Why the lineup changes each time
