The band is called 정장에 슬리퍼 — suits and slippers. Formality and comfort fastened into one phrase.
By their own introduction they sing about "slipper-like ease inside a suit-like life", and say they don't tie themselves to fixed frames of genre, instrument or subject.
A band named that way tends to title songs the same way. The first track does exactly that: '무관심의 미묘한 아름다움' — indifference is a negative word and beauty a positive one, with 'subtle' wedged between them.
The coincidence of a second track called Playground
The second song in a set posted to NONOL LIVE is called '놀이터'. The same word as this channel's name.
Coincidence, of course. But coincidences that stack start to register. A playground is a place from childhood and also a space for playing without fixed rules — the same direction as the 'slippers' in the band's name.
The third, '금쪽이', works similarly. It originally meant a treasured child; these days it's used more often for a difficult one. One word running in opposite directions.
A band releasing music monthly
They put out music every month under the name 'Project Monthly Slipper', and describe themselves as built for live performance.
