On two people standing again under one name

Sometimes people who have used their own names for a long time make one more name to share.

Two years, as an interval

JX was formed in 2024, the year of the pair's twentieth debut anniversary. They held their first solo concert 'IDENTITY' in Korea and Japan, and the Seoul run sold out across three nights at KSPO DOME.

Two years later, the second arrives. Unlike the first, which had an anniversary behind it, there's no such date this time.

Holding a second without an occasion is a different proposition. A first can be justified by the commemoration; a second has to make its own reason. Which means a decision to continue happened somewhere in between.

From identity to core

The first tour was 'IDENTITY'; this one is 'CORE'. From identity to core.

The two words look similar but run in different directions. Identity asks what something is; core asks what remains. The first is definition, the second selection.

As the question that follows making a name, that order is natural. First you have to explain what the name is; then you have to choose what sits at its centre.

A two-letter name

JX reads as the initials of the two names — short, meaningless, easy to say.

An announced increase in scale

This tour is billed as a large journey linking all of Asia, with dates continuing to Yokohama.

The first covered Korea and Japan, so the range has widened. Scaling up on the second is also evidence the first held.
