A joint bill
The lineup mixes Korean and Japanese acts. Nell, HANRORO, QWER and The Oral Cigarettes appear alongside Japanese names.
A bill built this way pulls the audience in two directions. Someone who came for a Korean act hears a Japanese one for the first time, and the reverse happens too.
The organisers describe it as a lineup not easily found at existing festivals. That is also why virtual artists and anime-based band projects are included.
A festival held indoors
The venue is KINTEX Hall 2 — indoors, not open air.
For late November that is a sensible choice. Outdoor festivals cluster in summer and early autumn, and past that season there is nowhere to go but inside.
Indoors removes the weather as a variable. In exchange the sound is contained and the impression of the space becomes uniform. Stability in place of the openness of an outdoor bill.
Forty-two acts, three days
Forty-two acts across three days is about fourteen a day.
At that scale you need several stages, and several stages mean overlapping set times. The audience ends up deciding not what to see but what to give up.
Announcing the full lineup this far ahead follows from that. With nearly three months left, there is time to plan.
Before you go
The festival runs November 20–22, more than two months away.
KINTEX is in Ilsan. Coming from Seoul takes a while, so leave the day open.
Late November is cold. Even indoors there is the journey either way, so a coat is not optional.
