A song that crashes in, just as its title says — ALLDAY PROJECT's 'CRASH'
Right before every chorus, it clears out the floor entirely, then fills it all back in at once. Listen to the eight seconds from 2:27 and you can hear exactly how this song was built.

Today's NONOL Pick is ALLDAY PROJECT's 'CRASH', out at 6 p.m. KST. Why we picked it fits in one line: right before each moment where it's about to hit hardest, the song clears out the floor completely, so the sound comes crashing into the empty space. The title is the blueprint.
It's clearest at 2:27 in the music video. For eight seconds there, the bass and kick drum — the low end you feel thumping in your chest — drop out almost completely. Only the voices and the higher sounds hang in the air, and then, the moment the final chorus lands at 2:36, the low end comes back all at once. On earphones, you'll feel the bottom go hollow beneath your ears and then fill right back up in one go.
And it doesn't pull this trick just once. It starts right from the top. For the first 20-odd seconds there's barely any low end, so the song floats lightly without ever touching the floor. Around 1:00, just before the first chorus breaks open, the sound stops for about half a beat; from 1:37 it holds on with the low end stripped away again, and at 1:43 it goes almost silent for close to half a second. Then at 1:45, it hits again. Empty, crash, empty again. The choruses sound big not so much because more sound is piled on, but because the space right before them has been cleared out this much.
Their agency introduced 'CRASH' as a song about "a bold attitude that breaks out of the set mold." The music video, too, opens on someone lying on broken glass and flows into scenes of the five members partying all night. Along with the title track, the second EP 'CRASH' holds 'TALK' (September 21) and 'DO IT LIKE THIS' (September 24), whose music videos came out first, plus 'NO LIMIT' and 'UP ALL NIGHT' — five songs in all. If you listen to just one song tonight, wait for 2:27 and turn the volume up a notch.
