How a song first sung at a playground became a release — four songs from Voicemail
Folk duo Voicemail's first live show was at a playground in Seoul Children's Grand Park, with the cherry blossoms in bloom. From the song they released that very day to an unreleased one they shared for the first time.

Voicemail (음성사서함) played their very first live show at a playground. On April 9, 2024, at a playground in Seoul Children's Grand Park with the cherry blossoms at their peak, the two of them said so themselves: "This live, through NONOL LIVE, is our first live performance." Kang Dong-hoon on keys and vocals, Kim Jun-mok on guitar and vocals: a folk duo that debuted in January that year.

A song sung on the day it came out
The second song, 'We Only Have Each Other', came out on the very day of filming. The members introduced it as a song about the feeling that "for us, it can only be each other." True to a folk song built from instrument sounds with a '70s and '80s feel, the singing stops for 30 seconds from 6:47 and the guitar steps forward. That's the guitar solo the video description mentions. A bassist and a drummer play along too, so even though it's a song for two voices, the sound feels full.
A new song heard first at the playground
The video description calls the last song, 'Will you look at me', "an unreleased song written and composed for NONOL." They introduced it as a fresh, tender love story about two people who haven't known each other long. Nine months later, in January 2025, the song was officially released as a single titled 'NONOL VOL 52'. The live versions of 'Last Goodbye' and 'We Only Have Each Other' from this video were included on it too. In other words, the song they first shared at a playground went on to become a release, just as it was.
Since then, the duo has put out the EP 'THE Film' (October 2024) and has kept releasing singles steadily. As of September 29, the video has a little over 63,000 views. Near the end of the last song (17:02) comes the lyric "in spring, summer, fall and winter." That's reason enough to pull out a video filmed under the cherry blossoms again this fall.
