A rose blooms on 'a fragile light shines in', a leap on 'Coming back to life': SUNGHANBIN's 'UNDEAD'
The music video opens with an orange butterfly that flies off before the song begins and closes with a butterfly that returns after the song fades. During the one-second fall from a building the drums and bass drop out, and through the seven seconds of the bridge, spent hanging on a wall with wings of debris, the drums go empty.

This is the music video for 'UNDEAD', the title track of 'DEAD:ALIVE', the first solo EP ZEROBASEONE's SUNGHANBIN released on October 12. The Bugs album introduction describes it as a song that takes pain head-on instead of avoiding it, carrying the paradox 'I die, but I never die', and describes the sound as 'an intense guitar riff, a grand choir and a dazzling drum line'. Lined up side by side with the official audio, the music video simply starts 3.85 seconds later, with nothing cut from or added to the song. The picture is in a 4:3 ratio. Times follow the official music video.
0:00 · A butterfly that flies off before the song
The video opens without sound, on an orange butterfly perched on a shoulder. When the butterfly flies off at 0:02.5, a tattoo with 'DEAD' and 'ALIVE' written across each other is revealed in its place. The song begins at 0:04, and the drums only come in six seconds later, at 0:10. At 0:11.5, a huge eye reflects a light: a sun with a crescent-like ring at its side.
0:38 · Hands reaching up in a white room
At 0:38, as the first verse's '상처로 벌어진 light' ("a light split open by wounds") plays, black hands reach up from the floor of a white room. At 0:40 SUNGHANBIN stands in the middle of those hands, and at 0:42 three lights hang from the ceiling, shaped like a crescent moon, a four-pointed star and a spiked ring.
1:13 · A one-second fall, and the drums and bass drop out
At 1:13.5, as the first chorus winds down on 'Coming back to life yeah', SUNGHANBIN leaps from a building into the sky. From 1:14.5 to 1:15.5, during the fall along the building's outer wall, the drums and bass drop out. When the second verse begins at 1:16.7 with '아름답게 물든 덤블' ("a thicket, beautifully dyed"), SUNGHANBIN lies at 1:17 on a pavement where red petals are scattered like bloodstains, and at 1:20 a white rose blooms over the heart in a chest X-ray.
2:04 · Seven drumless seconds, wings on a building wall
From 2:04.9, where the bridge begins with '홀린 듯 깊은 곳에서' ("deep down, as if bewitched"), to 2:11.5, the drums drop out. On screen, from 2:06, SUNGHANBIN hangs on the outer wall of a skyscraper with wings woven from torn cloth and debris. The moment the drums come back at 2:12, a boot kicks the wall, and at 2:16, as 'Now I can finally breathe' arrives, SUNGHANBIN closes both eyes, mouth open, the face scarred.
2:46 · A rose that blooms with '아슬한 빛이 드네'
The last part goes '헝클어진 어둠 끝에 / 아슬한 빛이 드네' ("at the end of a tangled darkness / a fragile light shines in"). Around 2:46, as '아슬한 빛이 드네' arrives, a single red rose has bloomed in a crack in the pavement. At 2:47 SUNGHANBIN crawls up the edge of the building's top with the wings still on, and at 2:49.5, with 'Coming back to life' at 2:49.3, leaps from the pointed top of the building into the sky. At 2:50.5 the drums and bass drop out, and the song fades away around 2:54.
2:54 · The butterfly that returns after the song ends
At 2:54.5, with the sound nearly gone, an orange butterfly the same color as the one on the shoulder at the start passes in front of the top of the building. At 2:57.5 the debris that made up the wings lies scattered at the feet of SUNGHANBIN, standing at the top, and at 3:00 a light with a crescent-like ring at the side of the sun appears in the sky. It's the same shape as the light reflected in the eye at 0:11.5. The last ten-odd seconds are silent, leaving only the sky and the logo. Apple Music
