Alone, the 'SNOW' Zion.T and Lee Moon-sae split between them: Sung Hyunjoo's live at a snow-covered playground
A midwinter playground live by Sung Hyunjoo, a vocalist from the top 10 of 'The Great Birth 3'. Of the four songs, drums only arrive in the last one, the self-written '참 고마웠어' (Thanks to..), which became 'NONOL VOL 10' 78 days later.

Sung Hyunjoo is a vocalist who made the top 10 of MBC's audition show 'The Great Birth 3' (위대한 탄생 3) in 2012. As the 13th musician on NONOL LIVE, Sung Hyunjoo stood at the playground of Byeongmogan Citizen Park in Anyang-dong, a park still marked by traces of an old quarry, on a winter morning when, as the description puts it, a cold wave had frozen the whole world solid. Snow covered the ground, and Sung Hyunjoo sang seated on a chair with a handheld microphone. Kwon Young-an played keyboard and Geon Yu played guitar, and older locals exercising beside the playground watched the show. Of the four songs, only the last one brings in drums and bass. Times follow the full version of the video on the NONOL channel.
0:00 바다 (The Sea)
A single Mellow Café released on July 13, 2020, with Sung Hyunjoo on vocals. The description introduces it as a song that compares longing to the sea at sunset. The video opens right on the first line, '파도는 언제나 고요하게 다가오고' ("the waves always come in quietly"). The lyrics are by Hamong, the music by Cracker, and the arrangement and piano by Kim Hye-won (Bugs).
3:54 눈 (SNOW)
A 2017 song by Zion.T that Sung Hyunjoo picked as one that always comes to mind on cold days like this. The original is split between two singers: Zion.T sings the first verse and Lee Moon-sae the second. In the work notes, Zion.T wrote that the first verse closes with '약속해요' ("I promise") and the second with '약속했죠' ("we promised"), and that the two people in the two verses are 'the same person living in different times' (Bugs). Sung Hyunjoo sings both verses alone. '약속해요' comes at 4:17, and '약속했죠' at 5:28.
8:11 Track 3
The third song on Lee Sora's 7th album (2008). Every one of the album's thirteen songs is simply numbered, from 'Track 1' to 'Track 13'. Sung Hyunjoo said it's a song Sung Hyunjoo truly loves and always finds comfort in while listening, and hoped listeners would find comfort in it, too. The accompaniment runs 16 seconds ahead before the singing starts at 8:27, and 18-second interludes follow at 9:30 and 10:54.
13:16 참 고마웠어 (Thanks to..)
A self-written song about friends from Sung Hyunjoo's teens, about how much gratitude and strength that friendship gave then and still gives now. The first verse and first chorus move with just keyboard, guitar and voice, and then, right before the first line of the second verse, '시간이 흘러' ("time passed"), the bass comes in at 14:47 and the drums at 14:48. Those are the first drums of the day. It was unreleased at the time of the show and came out 78 days later, on March 30, 2023, as 'NONOL VOL 10'. It's listed on Apple Music under the English title 'Thanks to..', and the same single also includes the playground recording from that day. The lyrics and music are by Sung Hyunjoo, the arrangement by HYUNKI, and the guitar by Geon Yu (Bugs). Apple Music
According to the description, Sung Hyunjoo was the last musician NONOL met at the Byeongmogan Citizen Park playground, and NONOL then left it behind for the next playground.
