Singing someone else's song first

The opener is a cover — not his own but Sanullim's 'Recollection'.

Putting someone else's song first does two things. One is familiarity, the other is comparison. A known song is easy to hear, but it stands next to the original.

Accepting that comparison and putting it first suggests there is a reading behind it. The note says it was moved into an acoustic setting, so the direction was toward stripping the arrangement down.

A song whose title is a sentence

The second title is 'So That's Why the Windows Are Tinted'. It is a full sentence.

A title that is a sentence is already saying something. Where a one-noun title only points at its object, a sentence carries a judgement about it as well.
