Someone else's song in third place

Only the third song is not hers. It is Norah Jones's 'Don't Know Why', introduced as a song by a musician YUNINI loves.

Putting someone else's song between your own is a way of declaring taste. Sometimes what a person listens to is more accurate than what they make.

'Don't Know Why' is a title that says it does not know the reason. Between three songs about falling, healing and keeping, one song sits saying it does not know why.

Someone who started with two prizes

YUNINI debuted by winning the gold prize and the lyrics prize at the 26th Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition with the song 'Here, Here, Here'.

Winning the lyrics prize as well means the words were judged separately. There is one more prize she received not because the song was good but because the writing was.

Since her first single '9%' in the winter of 2017 she has kept singing her own stories, based in pop and moving through rock, folk and R&B.
