When summer sends a signal — VAYONN's 'MUAH!'

A new group for the cool-summer slot
Every summer, one group turns up to fill the bright, cooling-off slot. This year it's VAYONN. They debuted on July 6 as iNKODE's second boy group.
Some faces are familiar. Sen, Masato, Ayang and Jinyu were on Mnet's 'Boys II Planet'. Add newcomers Teru and Mano and you get six. With only one Korean member, it's a fairly multinational team as well.
'MUAH!' — turning summer into a flutter
The title 'MUAH!' is the sound of a kiss, right there in the name. Play the song and a cool synth jumps out first, with a bouncing drum holding it up from behind. It's high-teen dance pop that turns the heat of summer into 'the signal of liking someone'.
Nothing heavy about it. Just bright, fast, and fluttering — exactly the spot a debut single should be aiming at, packing "this is the kind of group we are" into three minutes.
The pre-release 'Watta Day' had already raised the summer temperature; 'MUAH!' is where it properly goes off.

Discovery note
Play it on a midsummer afternoon, when the sweat won't cool off. This song instead of the air conditioning. The synth in 'MUAH!' drops the temperature a couple of degrees, and the chorus nudges you in the back: just say you like them. The freshness of a first debut comes free with it.
