In at 11.5 seconds, and it doesn't back off for three and a half minutes
Brown Tigger Band released a new single, 'Seize the Day,' a year after their last. True to the title, it never takes a break.

Out last Sunday evening: Brown Tigger Band's 'Seize the Day'!

There are five of them: Brown Tigger on vocals, Baloo and MOKNROLL on guitar, Shawnen on bass and Choi Min-ho on drums. Last July they announced the band with a remake of Crying Nut's 'Bami Gipeonne (밤이 깊었네),' released the EP 'Honjong (혼종)' two weeks later, and now, about a year on, this song is their second step.
At 11.5 seconds, all at once
Play the music video and the first 10 seconds are quiet. Around 9.5 seconds it sinks almost to nothing. Then at 11.5 seconds the whole band comes in at once. The sound gets 37 dB louder in 1.5 seconds! dB (decibels) is the unit of loudness, and 10 dB louder sounds about twice as loud. 37 dB is like a quiet library turning into a noisy restaurant in an instant.
And it doesn't back off for three and a half minutes
What's more surprising comes next. From 11.5 seconds to 3:40, measured in 10-second chunks, the loudness moves within a 2.5 dB window. It never backs off once! The flattest 10 seconds start at 3:22, and within them it moves less than 2 dB.
Now and then, at 47 seconds, 57 seconds and 1:00, the low end slams in. Those are the moments the sound below 150 Hz jumps to around half of the whole. Hz (hertz) is how many times the air vibrates per second, and below 150 Hz is where the bass and kick drum live.
Credits
Lyrics and music by Brown Tigger and MOKNROLL. All five members are credited on the arrangement. MOKNROLL personally handled production, mixing and mastering at 245 Music Factory. The genre is pop rock.
For a sluggish morning
Just give it a listen, trust me. Just 11 to 20 seconds tells you everything this song wants to do. Put it on on a sluggish morning, right before you get on the subway.
