A title that says the same thing twice

The second title is '안녕 goodbye' — the Korean '안녕' and the English 'goodbye' side by side.

The two words overlap but aren't identical. '안녕' works for both meeting and parting; 'goodbye' only for parting.

So the title narrows the meaning. '안녕' alone leaves it open; with 'goodbye' attached, it settles on the parting side. Not repetition — restriction.

Three loanwords, one Korean

'키스 라이크 디스', '그래비티' and '아이 두' are English written in Hangul. Only the second title contains a Korean word.

Write English in Hangul and the sound survives while the spelling disappears. 'Gravity' and '그래비티' leave different impressions on a reader; the latter looks like a word already absorbed into Korean.

Three of the four use that method, and only one sets both languages down as they are. The single place left untranslated is the song about parting.

Gravity and I do

The third song, '그래비티', is gravity — a pulling force, and not a thing you choose.

The fourth, '아이 두', is the answer given at a wedding. That's the language of choice; it only works if you say it.
