YOUNG POSSE Takes Over With a First Mixtape — 'Mr 2026'
Instead of betting it all on one title track, they poured a whole run of the hip-hop they wanted to make into a single tape. Just give it a listen, trust me.
YOUNG POSSE has done it again. Those five who've had you going "wait, who are these guys?" since their debut just showed up with a whole first mixtape.
[young tape] dropped on July 13, and its title track is 'Mr 2026.' The mixtape format alone is so very YOUNG POSSE. Instead of betting everything on one polished title track, they pour a whole spread of the hip-hop they actually want to make into a single run.
YOUNG POSSE's weapon has always been that couldn't-care-less attitude. Singing it pretty by the book was never the goal. They've had a sharp identity since day one, and on this mixtape they push that same grain forward without flinching. The rookie nerve to take 2026 on their own terms is stamped right into the title, 'Mr 2026.'
If this is your first time hearing YOUNG POSSE
- Group chemistry — the way all five trade off, cutting in and pulling back, is the heart of this team.
- Attitude — momentum over polish. If you like rap that pushes hard, you'll click with them.
- Format — the mixtape gives them more room. Don't just take one title track; listen to the whole flow.
No star ratings here. Instead, here's the prescription — on a day your steps could use a little charge, cue up the first track. Just give it a listen, trust me.
