Except that three of those five are singles already released this year.

An Album Stacked Up

No. Song Status
1 Just Before Goodbye (title) new
2 Drawing a Single Apple single, 19 Feb 2026
3 ceremony (Feat. MIYEON) single, 27 May 2026
4 Hello new
5 Delivery single, 24 Apr 2026

The new songs are 'Just Before Goodbye' and 'Hello'. The other three you already heard in February, April and May.

Which is where the title 'Layer' catches. The record stacks this year's releases into one place and puts two more on top. At the showcase Ko Young-bae spoke of wanting to "keep stacking up a setlist of my own".

It's the first EP since the band became a one-man project in January 2026; the previous EP was 'DREAM' in October 2025. It isn't the first release under that arrangement, though — four singles came before it ('Drawing a Single Apple' in February, the 10CM collaboration 'Change' in April, 'Delivery' in April, 'ceremony' in May).

A media showcase was held at the MPMG building in Changjeon-dong, Mapo-gu on release day.

The Rhythm Section Enters at 0:32

I measured the audio of the Special Clip for the title track. There's no conventional music video; this 3:40 clip is effectively the main version.

From 0:00 to 0:24 the opening averages −18.3dB with the low end at 9.1% of total energy. Guitar and voice only.

The rhythm section can be pinned to 0:32. That's where the low end first crosses 20%, and across 0:34~1:02 it averages 31.0% — 3.4 times the opening. The level over the same stretch is −10.1dB, 8.2dB louder.

But it doesn't keep growing from there. From 1:04 to 1:22 the low end falls back to 4~12% and the level sinks into the −16dB range. Then it returns at 1:24, and by 1:30 the low end has climbed from 43.7% to 53.7%.

Stack, remove, stack again. The same method as the tracklist.

The final chorus from 2:40 to 3:12 averages −9.5dB across 32 seconds, moving within a 7dB window. At 2:56 the mids peak at 65.8%.

The Ending Is Cut Three Times

The strangest thing about this song is how it stops.

It isn't a fade. From 3:15.7 it is cut three times — 3:15.7~16.2, 3:17.0~17.5 and 3:18.4~19.6 each drop to −60~−75dB, with chunks at −19dB wedged between them. A stutter.

Then from 3:19.7 to 3:23.2 it returns once more at −15dB, and the timbre changes completely. Across those 3.4 seconds, 84.3% of the energy sits in 150~500Hz and only 5.8% in 500~3000Hz. The spectral centroid reads 392Hz — about 40% of the 967Hz at the opening and the 1025Hz of the final chorus.

It ends as though the sound has been pushed behind a wall. Given a title like 'Just Before Goodbye', those last 3.4 seconds have the most to say.

Listen All the Way Through, Once

The music stops at 3:23.2 and the following 15.1 seconds are digital silence at zero amplitude. Leave it in a playlist and it simply rolls on to the next track.

Just give it a listen, trust me. Once, all the way through, with the last twenty seconds left running. The three cuts don't exist if you skip.
